Description
The story behind the artwork: Swimming is my passion. I am the athlete representative for Special Olympics in swimming which is why I chose this design. Each circle is a different swimming stroke done in a black shadow, displayed on a water coloured circle to represent the pool. I used a wide selection of prints including bubble blowing, geli pad, stencil and stamp. Each technique was chosen to get the best pattern to resemble water. I used different printing techniques on handmade paper using inks and paints. I wanted to capture the motion of the water. I used stamps, stencils, bubble printing, geli pad, and woodcuts to create my prints. I punched out circles and layered them together. I used a silhouette of swimmers on black paper and glued them together. I hung it using paper string on a stick.
This artwork has different prints on each side.
